Instagram bombards women and girls who suffer from eating disorders with images and videos of exceedingly thin females and others afflicted with anorexia, according to research done by the app's parent company Facebook. Internal documents leaked to the New York Post revealed that Instagram's algorithm curates options based on searches and preferences of users who express interest in dieting, weight loss, and thinness. Instagram researchers this year conducted an experiment in which they typed in terms like #skinny and #thin are then offered to browse through other accounts that feature dangerously emaciated women and girls. Some of the account names include '_skinandbones_', 'applecoreanorexic,' and 'skinny._.binge.' Experts in eating disorders say that it is unhealthy for young girls and women who suffer from anorexia and bulimia to be exposed to images of those with similar afflictions since it would reinforce body-related insecurities. Teens are especially vulnerable to what's known as 'thinspo' - which is short for 'thinspiration.' In online lingo, 'thinspiration' is a combination of the words 'thin' and 'inspiration.' The idea behind 'thinspo' is to motivate young girls and women to lose even more weight or to stay thin. Instagram is full of images of ultra-thin young women and girls (above) which can be found using the hashtags #skinnygirl, #skinny, and #skinnylegs.

Late millionaire Tony Hsieh (pictured) was swindled out of millions of dollars by his assistant while he grew emaciated and delusional from his drug addiction, his family has claimed in legal filings. The eccentric entrepreneur's vast wealth was looted through bizarre and 'manipulative' contracts written on sticky notes, cooked up by 'so-called friends' who let him spiral into drug abuse and severe mental illness, according to a counterclaim by his father and brother against his personal assistant, Mimi Pham (pictured left with the entrepreneur in 2014). On November 18 the 46-year-old was hospitalized after barricading himself in a shed in Connecticut and starting a fire. He died nine days later. Pham, Hsieh's self-described 'right-hand person', sued his estate for $93million in February for 'anticipated profit' from a movie venture and a Utah hotel. In August, Hsieh's father Richard and brother Andy hit back with a counterclaim accusing Pham and her lawyer boyfriend of 'abuse of fiduciary relationship', preying on his vulnerable, drug-addled state to 'exploit', 'manipulate' and 'squeeze' him out of millions in his final weeks.

'Serious enough for you now, Barack?' Furious parents tell Obama to apologize to vindicated couple and their daughter, who judge finds WAS raped by a boy in a skirt in school bathroom, after he called it 'fake outrage'

On Monday, juvenile court judge Pamela Brooks ruled that the boy - who has not been named - did force himself on the 15-year-old girl on May 28 in the bathroom at Stone Ridge High School in Leesburg, Virginia. The case drew national attention because the boy was wearing a skirt at the time and the girls' parents - Scott and Jessica Smith - said it was what they feared might happen more if Loudoun County Schools starts allowing boys into girls' bathrooms frequently as part of a progressive transgender policy. Striking video shows pulsating orb drop down from the sky and cruise alongside two FedEx pilots flying over Mexico that experts believe is a UFO with a plasma forcefield to deflect radar

On March 19, 2020 two FedEx pilots flying a cargo airplane near Monterrey, Mexico, saw a bright light drop down from the sky. The UFO stopped at their altitude, shot them with a beam of light, then moved in tandem with the plane for over 30 minutes before flying away. Mysteriously, the UFO did not show up on the plane's radar. Aviation experts tried to explain the light as the planet Venus, and the pulsating as a deceptive effect from the camera autofocus adjusting its lens in the dark. However, the pilots told NARCAP they saw the pulsing, plasma-like appearance with their own eyes as well as capturing it on camera.

For years Beijing has resisted calls to cut its carbon emissions (current emissions shown top right) by arguing the West bears 'historic responsibility' for climate change. But new figures show that conclusion is wrong. Even when taking into account emissions dating back to 1850 - the year when most Western nations had incorporated technology driven by fossil fuels into their economies - China ranks as the second-most polluting country, behind only the US (left). Analysts point out that, while China did industrialise much later than western nations, it ferocious growth in recent years - drive largely by coal power - has seen it eclipse other countries which began using industrial technology earlier. The analysis will pile pressure on Beijing to act faster in the battle to mitigate a climate catastrophe ahead of the COP26 summit next month, though Xi Jinping (bottom right) has so-far resisted calls to move faster and is unlikely to attend the summit in-person.

Decluttering coach Angie Wipf, 35, from Canada, has eight children under the age of 11 and decided in December 2019 to stop buying Christmas gifts. She was buying upwards of 40 presents per year for all of her children - which was costing her hundreds of dollars - and says they only noticed one or two gifts. The mother-of-eight decided to stop spending so much money on so many presents and use the funds saved on family experiences like zoo trips. Angie implemented a Secret Santa style tradition among her children, allowing them to draw one sibling's name from a hat, who they then give a gift to. According to the decluttering expert, this has made her children even more excited about Christmas, while reducing the 'stress' they felt on the holiday. She opened up about her decision on social media, where followers were left divided - with some accusing her of being 'cold' towards her children.
